Job role: I hold responsibility for the Partnership Board and provide executive leadership across Walking, Wheeling & Cycling and Healthy Active Partnerships. I’ll also lead our work in providing Support Service to share our learning and best practice regionally, nationally and internationally.
Date joined: June 2026
Professional background: I have spent my entire career in public service, including roles as an analyst, lead investigator and neighbourhood manager for local authorities across the North West and the civil service. For the last eight years, I led Greater Manchester’s Business Compliance Support, which united the ten GM local authorities’ public protection services to deliver high-quality compliance guidance to businesses nationwide, alongside training and developing new regulators to provide a robust succession plan.
Why movement matters to me: As a husband, father and son, I see the power, impact and benefit of movement, physical activity and sport on the mental and physical health of myself and those I care about. Through coaching junior rugby and watching my children playing and participating in organised physical activities and junior sport, I see the huge value it brings in social, teamwork and leadership skills, and the way in which it builds resilience in young people and coaches alike.
