Job role:

As Project Support Lead for the Health team, I support a range of projects and initiatives that help create a healthier, more active and inclusive Greater Manchester. My role is all about connecting people, bringing teams together and building strong relationships with partners and communities. I act as a bridge between teams, helping to share knowledge, encourage collaboration and turn shared ideas into meaningful action. I’m passionate about the difference movement can make to people’s lives and believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience its benefits, no matter their background or circumstance. I’m driven by the belief that by working together, we can break down barriers and create a future where being active is a part of everyday life for everyone.

Professional background:

I started my career in the creative industries, studying Film and Moving Image Production at Norwich University of the Arts before going on to support students pursuing similar creative courses. Over the past five years, my career has taken me into preventative health, supporting people recently diagnosed with cancer to build their strength and prepare for major treatment or surgery. This work showed me the difference physical activity can make to recovery and quality of life. A key theme throughout my career has been the importance of prevention, exercise and wellbeing. I believe exercise is medicine and that everyone should have the opportunity to be active and experience the benefits of movement.

How movement brings me joy: I’m a complete water baby, always have been and always will be. Whether it’s a lake, the sea or a river, I’m always happiest in the water. I love it so much that when my husband and I visited Windermere, we ended up ditching the big wedding plans and secretly getting married on the lake instead!
