GM Moving funding for sports clubs

These two new funds are helping clubs to become even more safe, supportive, welcoming and inclusive environments.

Funding

Fund 1: Training for Volunteers

  • Please note: Applications for this fund closed in April 2026
  • Up to £500 to fully fund training, workshops and education opportunities for club volunteers, parents and athletes
  • Choose from our menu of welfare, inclusion, and safeguarding training from industry approved experts, or request training based on your clubs specific needs!

Funding

Fund 2: Creating a positive culture

  • Please note: Applications for this fund closed in April 2026
  • Up to £250 to cover the costs of gathering athletes’ voice and listening to what your members want
  • Up to £1500 to fund projects informed by your athletes’ voice that will create a positive culture at your club – one that is even more safe, supportive, welcoming and inclusive

Applying for funding

  • Groups applying should:
    • Be based in Greater Manchester
    • Deliver sports and physical activity to children and/or adults
    • Have a constitution and a committee
    • See the information booklet for full eligibility criteria

  • Application deadlines:
    • Applications open on 24 February 2026
    • Applications close on 12 April 2026

  • Decision making:
    • Decisions will be made by a panel including a young person and community representation.
    • Applicants will informed of outcomes by 21 April 2026
