Introduction
Since 2015, our team, trustees and partners have been learning about how to deliver a systemic, place-based approach to supporting active lives for all.
We have been testing, learning, developing evidence and understanding, and practical tools and ways to support people in their roles.
We are often asked for guidance and support, and to share our resources and tools, which we do regularly on our website, LinkedIn, Bluesky accounts, via our newsletter, webinars, podcasts and more.
In addition to this, we have developed a Support Service, to support others in a more in-depth, hands-on way. Supporting partners outside Greater Manchester, and those working on other agendas and missions helps us to create better conditions for all our work.
What can we help you with?
Some of the areas we have already helped colleagues with include:
Strategic planning
We can support strategic planning for whole systems approaches, movement building and place-based work- including stakeholder engagement, development of plans and establishing leadership and governance approaches.
Board development
Our board are known for excellence in governance and for creating the conditions and culture for thriving teams and impactful work. We can offer mentoring, advice, guidance and practical support to other boards.
Mentoring
Mentoring is powerful for leaders at all levels of an organisation. Our mentoring support is based on years of experience of leading, supporting and delivering change. We can draw on ten years of evaluation and learning alongside our own leadership practice and understanding.
Evidence and Evaluation
We can support your evidence and evaluation in a number of ways including;
- Building capability and confidence in teams
- Developing learning cultures
- Embedding reflective practice
- Developing Theories of Change
- Capturing meaningful data to support reporting processes.
Testimonials
We’ve been working with Liverpool City Region to support them with their evidence and evaluation .
‘Just wanted to say another big thanks for coming along yesterday and helping out – we had some great outputs from the day, but more importantly a big group of engaged people that really sets the foundations for us doing further work around the Sport England System Maturity Matrix and Theory of Change in the future. We couldn’t have done that without your ongoing support, which we really appreciate.’
Danny Woodworth, Partnership Manager for Health at Merseyside Sports Partnership.
Feedback from Hayley Lever’s Presentation at The National Sports Convention, Melbourne.
“I felt that your presentation was inspiring and thought-provoking, a perfect addition to the morning plenary session. From early conversations, the presentation was warmly received, showcasing what can be done with a clear plan and strong collaboration to support community health and well-being”.
Feedback from the Global Community of Practice
“Your contribution has significantly strengthened the global community of practice, with colleagues noting new connections, collaborations, and relationships formed because of you. Forums and networks are still active and expanding, illustrating sustained value.”
“Offering a “different lens” helped make visible shared approaches, barriers, and opportunities across systems — reinforcing the value of international exchange.”
“There was a lasting influence on teams, culture, and language- teams continue to reference analogies, stories, and moments from your visit that “stuck,” demonstrating strong cognitive and cultural impact.”
