GM Moving Partnership Board
The GM Moving Partnership Board works on behalf of the whole system to achieve the mutual outcomes outlined in GM Moving in Action, the shared physical activity strategy for Greater Manchester.
Chaired by Manchester City Council CEO Tom Stannard, the Partnership Board gives strategic direction and steers the work across the whole system to achieve deeper benefits for the people of Manchester.
The Board works in accordance with the principles and framework set out in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU aligns with local, GM and national strategies as well as broader local to national cross-government strategies to deliver population health and wellbeing. It sets out the approach to achieve Active Lives for All, through the GM Moving in Action strategy and includes a shared commitment to take long-term, preventative, community-led, evidence-based approach to tackling inactivity. Board members hold each other to account to facilitate joint working in a whole-system, place-based way to tackle inactivity and inequality, creating the conditions for system change.
