Time on Board – October 2023 to present

Why I joined the Greater Manchester Moving board – Following my retirement from KPMG I wanted to find a role where I could utilise and develop the skills I have acquired during my professional career to really make a difference for others. Couple this with my passion for physical activity and sport and my personal objective to become more active and I don’t think I could have found a better role.

Current job/role – None (retired)

Professional Background – I am a Fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England in Wales. I have enjoyed a 30-year career as an auditor in professional practice, over 26 of which have been with KPMG. As an Audit Partner I was responsible for the audit opinion on a number of leading large private companies, listed companies and charities across the North West of England.

Skills I bring – As an Audit Partner with KPMG I developed a broad skill base commensurate with that required of a senior role in a leading professional services firm. The skills I bring include significant knowledge and experience of financial accounting, audit risk, the audit cycle and corporate governance; and a solid understanding of organisational risk identification, assessment and mitigation. I have led and developed high performing teams and worked with senior boards across a number of the North West’s largest businesses.

Areas of Expertise – Audit, Risk, Governance and Financial Accounting.

Personal Interests – I love watching football and rugby but as my playing days are now over I cycle, walk and regularly go to the gym to try and improve my fitness. I also enjoy travelling.
