Job Role: As Active Children Lead I work with a range of partners, networks and organisations in Early years, education and school sport to ensure that children and young people build a positive relationship with movement, physical acitvity and sport. I help translate national programmes and strategies into local and meaningful opportunities, ensuring that all children and young people get to find the joy of moving.

Date started: November 2018

Pronouns: She/her

Professional background: After graduating with a degree in Sports Development I have been fortunate enough to work in this sector for 15 years, spanning a number of roles, including direct delivery of PE, sport and physical activity to children and young people in schools and community settings, to more recent roles where I was responsible for the planning and implementation of physical activity programmes and opportunities that support children 0-16 to be active.

How movement brings me joy: I have always been fortunate to have a positive relationship with movement, with running and football being the ones that have featured throughout my life, both bring me joy when taking part at any level, from a kick about in the park to a park run at the weekend. I also get a lot of enjoyment from my daily dog walks, which really help my mental well-being.
