Moving together in Bury

Bury is home to over 194,600 people across six towns. Active Lives data (Nov 2022 to Nov 2023) shows 73.2% of adults are active for at least 30 minutes a week, equating to 111,400 adults. This is a decrease of 2,300 from the previous year, reinforcing the need for continued collective action.

The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England (November 2022-Nov 2023) shows that 73.2% of adults in Bury are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 111,400 adults moving. However this is a decrease of 2,300 from 12 months ago and we need to all keep working together to support active lives for all in Bury.

Active Lives data (academic year 2022-23) also shows that 70.1% of children and young people (CYP) in Bury are moving, achieving at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day, this equates to 187,000 CYP.
