GreaterSport have today launched the Moving Forces Connect programme, a new programme co-designed with the veterans on our Moving Forces programme, for veterans, to help support building better mental and physical wellbeing into veteran’s lives.

After delivering the Moving Forces programme over the last three years, we wanted to add a layer of mental wellbeing support for the veterans.

We were successful in applying for funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to be able to develop this programme and wellbeing guide and we aim to support as many veterans as we can through Connect.

We worked with the veterans on the Moving Forces programme to co-design the ‘Connect’ Programme and piloted it earlier in the year. Ady and Michael were part of the pilot and have kindly shared their experiences and how it helped them.

Connect is a free, downloadable, digital, downloadable programme which has been developed alongside a public mental health expert and personal trainer, to empower veterans and their families in learning about how our mind and body work together to create, boost and maintain greater wellbeing. It is flexible and can be undertaken as an individual, as a family or even as a group if you wanted to lead this for your members, with the aim of introducing positive new habits that veterans can embed into their everyday lives.

Laura Cooper, Connect Programme Manager at GreaterSport said,

“We are so excited to be able to share the Connect programme with veterans and their families. Connect is a fantastic and accessible resource which can support veterans in focusing on their physical and mental wellbeing, whether it’s the first steps back into fitness, post covid recovery or first time exploring wellbeing.”

If you have any questions, require any further information or would like to request promotion material to help promote the programme (eg, newsletter / website content) please contact Laura Cooper ([email protected]).
