Greater Manchester Moving takes the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk very seriously and believe in equality for all.
We work closely with the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and, increasingly with the Ann Craft Trust (who provide information for Adults at Risk).
Greater Manchester Moving is committed to promoting the safety, welfare and equality of children, young people and adults at risk engaged in all forms of movement, physical activity and sport across Greater Manchester.

Following a Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) safeguarding review in May 2024, we have met all the required safeguarding standards.
This means that we are compliant across a whole range of safeguarding practices including Policies, Procedures and Guidance, Organisational Commitment to Safeguarding, Strategic Planning, Communications and Training and Education.
The CPSU have a wide range of available resources to support those who work with children, young people or adult at risk. Visit their Resource Library to access a wide range of materials, including sample policies, best practice guidance, webinars and more.
Whilst the sport and physical activity sector has put in place a range of practices to reduce risk, it’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure any concerns are highlighted to the appropriate bodies.

As well as using one of these options, or in cases were you don’t feel someone is in immediate danger, but do have concerns you can also raise a concerns with us at Greater Manchester Moving.
Through our processes we’ll make sure that it’s raised with the appropriate body. You can do this whether you are worried about the health or wellbeing of a child, young person or adult at risk, or equally about the behaviour of an adult.
