Why is it important to move during the working day?

Over one million adults are in employment in Greater Manchester, 24.9% of whom are inactive. With 60% of their waking hours at work for many over 50% of their day is sedentary, this inactivity is a real cause for concern. That is why Active Workplaces is a key work area for GreaterSport.

The sessions will focus on...

  1. Ensuring that moving more while working is seen as normal and that permission is given from leadership
  2. Helping workplaces to understand what kinds of activity count
  3. Working to ensure that movement is included in workplace health and wellbeing plans

To delve into these themes, we are working with The Business Health Group and Malleable Minds on a series of workshops that will help us understand how we can help make these changes in our own workplaces.
