In response to covid-19 affecting people's ability to keep moving Active Tameside created an opportunity to engage older adults in community exercise
The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England shows that 72.7% of adults in Tameside are active for at least 30 minutes a week, this equates to 130,800 adults moving. This is an increase of 1,600 from 12 months ago.
Due to the changing situation with Covid-19 the decision has been made to cancel any Greater Manchester School Games competitions until September 2020.
In Tameside 55.7% of children and young people are not achieving an average of 60 active minutes per day, which means that just under half are doing enough activity to stay healthy.
73.7% of adults in Tameside are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 132,600 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 4.1% and 9,000 adults.
