Tickets are on sale for the first in-person GM Moving conference since 2019 as Greater Manchester prepares to come back together and refocus efforts to enable Active Lives for All.

The conference, which takes place at the Etihad Campus on Friday 3 February 2023, will bring partners together from a diverse range of sectors, including health, education, planning, transport and community sectors, to connect and celebrate the amazing efforts of colleagues across GM to support people moving more.

Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham will be speaking at the conference alongside a host of other speakers from across Greater Manchester. See the full list of announced speakers here.

The conference, which took place online in 2021 and 2020, is free and open to all partners, supporting delegates to lead, learn and move together to accelerate the progress towards Active Lives for All.

The combined economic and social value of people taking part in community sport and physical activity in GM has been calculated at £3.4bn.

This includes nearly £2bn of value from improved mental wellbeing demonstrating the vital importance of continuing to build movement into everyone’s lives.

Eve Holt, Director at GreaterSport, said:

“It is really exciting to be bringing colleagues and partners together once again and ensuring we are all part of GM Moving, our movement for movement.

“Moving matters to everyone and is key to enabling good lives for all in a greener, fairer and more prosperous Greater Manchester.

“Moving has been designed out of our lives. Everyone has a role to play to design it back in.  We are all movers and shakers! So, join in.

“We want our first in-person conference since 2019 to further grow and diversify our shared movement so we can lead, learn and move together to enable Active Lives for All.”
