GreaterSport would like to announce the appointment of 3 new board members.

GreaterSport are passionate about having a board that represents Greater Manchester and one that has the skills that will help us achieve our objectives.  Following a board recruitment drive over the Summer we are proud to welcome three new board members to the team. Sanjay, Dan and Leanne bring with them a wide range of skills and experience to complement the skills already held by our dynamic board

Sanjay Bhandari

Sanjay has enjoyed a 29-year career in professional services, spending 15 years as a lawyer. He has a particular interest in innovation, change, and creating new areas for business growth. For the last 3 years he has been named as one of Financial Times’ EMpower 100 ethnic minority leaders and, in 2016, as one of the top 100 most influential BAME people in business in the inaugural ‘Upstanding Executive’ Power List.

With a keen interest in football (Sanjay has been a Manchester United fan for over 40 years) and diversity, Sanjay has today been appointed as the new chair of the Kick It out charity.

Dan Cropper

Dan has been a qualified lawyer for 19 years and is now Head of Legal at Manchester based N Brown. He is passionate about the benefits sport can have and is looking forward to getting started and having the opportunity to change the lives of many people through activity. Since moving to Manchester to study he has never looked back and became a Manchester fan instantly! Outside of work he is a general sports fan; enjoying participating and watching many sports. He is a Sheffield Wednesday FC fan!

Cllr Leanne Feeley

Leanne is an Executive Member of Tameside Council, specifically Dukinfield/Stalybridge. Her role covers Lifelong Learning, Equalities, Culture and Heritage. Leanne worked in arts and cultural management in local government for over 15 years including at Tameside, Salford and Stockport Councils. She is now the manager of ‘Company Chameleon’, a local dance company. Leanne will also represent the Greater Manchester Combined Authority on the board.

GreaterSport prides itself in delivering outstanding leadership, governance, thinking and evaluation to our partners and funders and we are sure Sanjay, Dan and Leanne will support us in doing so as we strive towards our target of 2 million people moving in Greater Manchester.
