The GM Moving conference brings people and organisations together to re-energise, refocus and grow as a diverse and inclusive movement for movement.
Registration has opened for the 2024 GM Moving conference as Greater Manchester prepares to come together once more to refocus and re-energise our efforts to enable active lives for all.
The conference, taking place on Monday 25 March 2024, will bring partners together from a diverse range of sectors, including health, education, planning, transport, and community, to connect and celebrate the amazing efforts of colleagues across GM to support people moving more.
With last year’s event being a 400-person sell out, the 2024 conference moves to a bigger venue at The Lowry in Salford Quays as Greater Manchester’s movement for movement continues to gain momentum.
Tickets, released to newsletter subscribers last week, have been subsidised by GM Moving and partners so there’s no cost to attendees, with a series of inspirational speakers and participatory breakout sessions to be announced in the New Year.
The conference, which took place online in 2021 and 2020, returned as an in-person event at the Etihad Stadium in 2023, supporting delegates to lead, learn and move together.
The 2024 event will give attendees chance to reflect on the progress and challenges in the delivery of GM Moving in Action and develop further as a diverse and inclusive movement for movement.
Eve Holt, Strategic Director at Greater Manchester Moving, said:
“It is always really exciting to be bringing new and old colleagues and partners together in one venue and celebrating all the ways they create the conditions for people to move more.
“Moving matters to everyone and our movement for movement in GM is key to enabling good lives for all in a greener, fairer and more prosperous city region.
“It was fabulous to see so many people moving along with Dance Syndrome last year and we’ll definitely be keeping all our attendees energised in March. We’re all built to move and want everyone to join in.
“It’s a space to share stories, amplify great work, collaborate on shared challenges, and celebrate the ways people create the conditions for others to move more.”
