The GM Walking and Wheeling Fund improves the health and wellbeing of Greater Manchester communities by encouraging people to walk or wheel (e.g. using a wheelchair/mobility aid or pushing a pram) regularly.

Through the fund, we support organisations working with communities that are less active or inactive, including people with disabilities or long-term health conditions, people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and people from lower socio-economic groups.

The funding is provided by the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership and we work in partnership with Salford CVS and 10GM.

Here we meet the Inspirational Women, a charity based in East Manchester that organises weekly walks to encourage movement among its members. By offering a space where women from ethnic minority backgrounds can connect with others who share similar experiences, the walks foster a sense of community, accountability and most of all, fun!

They are always looking to reach more people. For more information, check out the website here and contact Chizzy Ijeh, or they can be found in Instagram - @theinspirationalwomen.
