We are inviting applications for an exciting peer support programme designed for people from racialised backgrounds who work or volunteer to help others live more active lives in Greater Manchester. This is an opportunity hosted by Manchester Community Central on behalf of 10GM, in partnership with GM Moving.

Apply here

This opportunity is aimed at those not currently in senior leadership positions but who have experienced barriers to leadership, providing a safe space to connect, share experiences, and build confidence.

The programme offers more than just peer support. Participants will have access to mentorship, targeted workshops, networking opportunities, and a small fund to shape personal development. It will also provide signposting to pathways and opportunities to influence change across Greater Manchester.

The programme runs monthly, on the last Wednesday from October 2025 to April 2026, and applicants are asked to commit to attending all sessions.

We welcome suggestions for discussion topics. These are likely to include:

  • The relationship between race, racism and sport: explaining current systems and understanding barriers
  • Tackling inequalities: women and girls breaking the barriers with Khadija Patel
  • Wellbeing and self-care, understanding your role and how to use your experience to thrive
  • Positive examples of collaborative leadership and collective action
  • Raising your profile and influencing through storytelling

To find out more before applying, we are hosting an online information webinar on Wednesday 17th September, 12–1 PM. You can register for that webinar here

Application deadline: Sunday 21st September 2025.

For more details, see the information pack or register for the webinar to learn more about this opportunity.
