Following the latest release of Sport England's Active Lives Survey, we have received and analysed the activity levels within each of Greater Manchester's boroughs.

Greater Manchester Activity Levels

73.3% adults are active for at least 30 minutes a week in Greater Manchester, which equates to 1,639,000 adults. This is an increase of 14,900 from the survey 12 months ago and a total increase of 68,100 since the survey began in 2015 – 16. Bolton Activity Levels

73.2% of adults in Bolton are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 164,400 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 2.4% and 6,400 adults.

Bury Activity Levels

74.8% of adults in Bury are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 113,100 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 1.2% and 2,800 adults.

Manchester Activity Levels

74.6% of adults in Manchester are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 325,700 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 0.9% and 13,600 adults.

Oldham Activity Levels

67.7% of adults in Oldham are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 123,400 adults. This is a decrease since baseline (November 2015-16) of 5.8% and 7,400 adults.

Rochdale Activity Levels

67.1% of adults in Rochdale are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 115,700 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 1.6% and 4,900 adults.

Salford Activity Levels

75.6% of adults in Salford are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 153,400 adults. This is a significant improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 6.7% and 17,900 adults.

Stockport Activity Levels

77.2% of adults in Stockport are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 181,300 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 0.3% and 2,200 adults.

Tameside Activity Levels

73.7% of adults in Tameside are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 132,600 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 4.1% and 9,000 adults.

Trafford Activity Levels

77.0% of adults in Trafford are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 143,200 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 4.2% and 8,900 adults.

Wigan Activity Levels

70.3% of adults in Wigan are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 186,100 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 2.9% and 9,600 adults.
