The Purpose:

As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in organising and executing fundraising initiatives and events. This includes engaging with supporters, high net worth individuals, and participants to ensure successful outcomes. Join us in making a difference and shaping a brighter future for our youth.

The Role:

  • To assist the Fundraising and Charity Services team in coordinating essential aspects of our flagship events such as Legends matches, overseas treks, and Sleepout initiatives.
  • Oversee reporting and express gratitude to online donors.
  • Collaborate with third-party fundraising partners to identify and promote new challenge events, ensuring the recruitment of supporters.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for individuals interested in fundraising for Manchester United Foundation (MUF), whether through events or other fundraising endeavours.
  • Maintain records of participants and events, and ensure accurate monitoring of all financial transactions.
  • Stay updated on fundraising trends and explore potential new events for MUF involvement.
  • Provide insights and innovative suggestions for future event development as needed.
  • Assist in acquiring auction prizes for events and support administration of the Matchday Lottery program when necessary.
  • Contribute to the charity services program, including handling inquiries, mascot and ticket allocations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Foundation Communications team to coordinate marketing, press, and social media efforts related to events, fundraising, and charity activities.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising laws and regulations, as well as the guidelines set by the Fundraising Regulator.

Supporter Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals who have brought an auction prize for MUF, ensuring that their prize is delivered with care and on a timely basis.
  • Deliver a high level of supporter care, including timely polite and professional communications and manage their supporter journey with the Foundation.
  • Fulfil any additional duties as required within the scope of the team's responsibilities.
  • Given the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

The Person:

  • Previous experience in a similar fundraising role.
  • Demonstrated experience in organising events or community engagements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage time efficiently, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in creative thinking and problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills adaptable to various environments.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for communication within and across departments, as well as with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compassion and sensitivity in interactions with bereaved or unwell supporters, including those contributing in memory of loved ones.
  • Adherence to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative to accomplish tasks

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with online donation platforms like JustGiving, along with other social media and digital fundraising tools.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce for maintaining accurate donor records and administrative systems in accordance with established protocols
