Introduction to Public Narrative

We know that in times of increasing uncertainty and challenge such as we have experienced over the last two years there becomes ever more a need to explore. 

• Authenticity in leadership through action, behaviours, and culture 
• The increasing concern for the resilience of people at all levels, but for those in leadership roles in particular 
• A growing acceptance that for real, sustainable change to be achieved leaders need to build commitment to change and action increasingly from those beyond their direct control, and that is very hard to do. 

This session will provide an insight into the essential leadership tool of public narrative. Providing a taster of how powerful public narrative can be in building that commitment and at the same time building trust at an accelerated rate. Exploring the work of Marshall Ganz from Harvard University and Professor Keith Grint from Warwick University 

In this short session we will: 

• Explore the important differences between leadership & management 
• Gain insight into the power of public narrative  
• Give you a sense of the key elements of a public narrative 
• Experience examples of public narrative 
• And maybe develop a desire to learn more about this essential leadership skill.
