The Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) programme is part of the Moving Healthcare Professionals Programme (MHPP) is a partnership programme led by OHID and Sport England, which aims to increase awareness, skills and change clinical practice of health professionals in the promotion of physical activity to patients at risk of, or with, health conditions.
The role of the Nurse/Midwife Clinical Champion is to organise and deliver standardised peer-to-peer online training on physical activity in clinical care to other NHS health care professionals. While the national teams will use communication strategies and wider engagement to build awareness for the clinical champions training, which will lead to expressions of interest from potential attendees, the Clinical Champion will also be expected to advertise the sessions themselves by making use of their networks and building relationships with local, regional, and national stakeholders.
Roles are based across East of England, South East, South West, North East & North West. We are particularly interested in applications from Healthcare Professionals working in East of England, South East and North West, North East and North West though we will be accepting applications from all locations in England. Please note, during the sifting process, applications from preferred locations will be prioritised.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide professional leadership working with partners, including Local Authorities, ICSs, Royal Colleges, Active Partnerships and Foundation Trusts. They will improve public health through driving behavioural changes towards healthier lifestyles, helping fellow professionals to support individuals to take more responsibility for their health and initiating a culture shift with respect to physical activity within their, and other, clinical professions.
The Clinical Champion will support the team’s efforts to activate and integrate lifestyle behaviour change into clinical practice across the life course, with a primary focus on physical activity.
The role reports to the MHPP Clinical Champions Project Manager.
Assessment - to demonstrate your teaching style, you will be asked to prepare a 10-minute online educational presentation using teams to present on “Physical activity within patient care” aimed at a specific clinical audience imagining that the Interview Panel are that audience. This will be followed by around five minutes of questions and answers.
The posts are contracted to 31st December 2022, with a possibility to extend past this date.
