The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England show that Bolton has recovered to baseline levels for both active (57.4%) and inactive (29.4%) levels and showing further improvements to pre-pandemic levels for activity.

The latest Active Lives results published by Sport England show that 65.8% of adults in Bolton are active for at least 30 minutes a week, equating to 148,800 adults moving; an increase of 1,000 from the survey 12 months ago.

Overall inactivity levels have stayed the same since 2015-16 in Bolton, but there has been an increase (by +1.2%) in those that are achieving 150 minutes or more of physical activity a week, to meet the recommended movement required to stay healthy.

In Bolton 51.5% of children and young people are not achieving an average of 60 active minutes per day, which means that just under half are doing enough activity to stay healthy.

73.2% of adults in Bolton are moving, at least 30 minutes a week, equivalent to 164,400 adults. This is an improvement since baseline (November 2015-16) of 2.4% and 6,400 adults.
